Lexmark X422 Review

The X422 has rates that beat its rivals on almost every front. In our tests, the X422 fired out text documents at 16.9ppm and greyscale video at 8ppm. It duplicated a message document at a fast 6ppm. The X422 also checked a 4″ x 5″ color picture at 100dpi in simply 19 secs.

The fast rates didn’t bring bad outcomes, either. Text looked dark and sharp, and video appeared better compared to those produced by many various other MFPs. However, video printouts from the X422 exhibited small banding; our test photo revealed great information. Narrow identical lines in our line art test document were definitely published.

Duplicates of a greyscale picture, on the various other hands, looked incredibly dark and consequently retained little of the initial information. Duplicates of a message document were excellent, comparable in quality to those made by various other laser MFPs.

Other Printer: Epson WorkForce WF-2630

The front panel consists of switches for copying, faxing, sending out e-mail, publishing, and a number pad for going into fax numbers. Strangely, the X422 does not have a check switch on the console.

To check our color picture, we needed to use a PC and undergo Home windows XP’s scanning drivers. While its color check quality readied, its greyscale checks were much more outstanding. It was still unqualified the standard of the Sibling MFC-8840DN, however.

With the automated document feeder, the X422 stands quite high, so make certain to give it a great deal of headroom. Including an optional paper, the tray would certainly make it also taller; it comes with a 250-sheet tray, and additional 250 and 500-sheet trays are available. The X422 comes with 128MB of memory but fits up to 384MB.
